Undergraduate (Bachelor’s Degree)
Direct Admission
Normal Admission under Quota System for Students in Northeastern Region
Direct admission accepts students through quota for students in northeastern region. Khon Kaen University has received students who are studying in Mathayom Suksa 6 or in Upper-vocational Level, 3rd Year in 20 provinces of the Northeastern region. These people are to be recruited by the KKU entrance examination annually. The direct admission is in response to the KKU policy in decentralization of educational opportunities to those students in Northeastern region to further their studies at the higher education institution. In addition, KKU also offers the opportunities for those students who are the residents of 17 provinces in Northern region (recruited through Chiang Mai University) and in 14 provinces in Southern region (recruited through Prince of Songkla University) to further their study at Khon Kaen University.
Normal Admission through the Central System
Implemented by Council of University President of Thailand (CUPT)
Khon Kaen University accepts new students through the Central System implemented by Council of University President of Thailand (CUPT) which has recruited students who finished secondary school or equivalent level across the country. Those students must have scores according to the components specified by faculties/programs. If not, they are counted as disqualified to study in such faculties/programs. Moreover, those students who graduated abroad have to submit a secondary school transcript and an equivalent certificate of basic education issued by Thai Ministry of Education, with certified true copies, to the CUPT.
Graduate (Master’s Degree)
Graduate student admission has been processed through the collaboration between the faculty and KKU’s Graduate School according to the following channels.
Qualitification for applicants:
Graduated bachelor’s degree in any field from a public or private institution, domestic or international, certified by the Civil Service Commission and/or the Office of the Higher Education Commission.

– Test results from a language testing center. Use one of the following criteria;
(Test results from a language testing center with test results no more than 2 years Test results from the Language Testing Center with test results valid for no more than 2 years from the test date until the application deadline in the online application system or as announced by the Graduate School)
– TOEFL (Paper Based) not less than 470
– TOEFL (Internet Based) not less than 52
– TOEFL (Internet Testing Program) not less than 470
– IELTS (Academic Module) not less than 5.0
– TU-GET (1000 Scores) not less than 500
– CU-TEP (120 Scores) not less than 60

In the case of applicants who do not have test results from English testing centers, you can apply for Khon Kaen University Academic English Language Test (KKU-AELT) organized by the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University. Master of Economics (Behavioral and Applied Economics)
This program accepts general applicants by arranging examination and interview system and the applicants must have a basic qualification as follows.
Case 1 : An examination and an interview: An applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree in all fields from a government or private university in Thailand or abroad, certified by Office of the Civil Service Commission and/or Council of Higher Education Commission.
Case 2 : An interview only: An applicant must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with honors in all fields from a government or private university in Thailand or abroad, certified by Office of the Civil Service Commission and/or Council of Higher Education Commission.
